Freudian Flip

I love this one! Very cool color effect. I'm pale and it looks good on my fingers and toes. Good quality as always with Orly. Glad I purchased it!

Indoors under low light the color is significantly more of a metallic blue similar to P*psi can but a bit lighter. In brighter conditions it's gets lighter taking on a gradient of blue green. If glitter isn't your thing then stay away because the glitter sticks around even after clean up. Attached is a magnified image showing the colors and textures. More than one layer of application is needed- a single layer will still show nail.

I apply 3 thin layers to get intense color.

Does what it says, but loses a couple points for looking cooler in the bottle than it does on my nails. With 2-3 coats I get a cerulean blue-to-purple shift, but it lacks the teal it looks like in product photos and in the bottle. The pigment is pretty good, but perhaps not as saturated as it could be? Even with 2-3 coats on my Nub Club short nails, this polish can look see-through in strong lighting.

All that said, the Breathable formula works wonders for those of us who actually use our hands. I work with animals and fish tanks, so my nails get wet & I wash my hands frequently. This formula is the longest lasting for me; I will get leading edge wear after a couple of days but it doesn’t chip and peel off like regular paint does, and doesn’t require extra accessories or risk allergies like gel manicures can. I’ll take a little hit on pigment for a polish with this kind of staying power. (But uh, hey Orly: more shimmers and duochromes please!)
