So after learning how to use an e-file on myself, my beautiful natural nails were thiiiiin and honestly really destroyed. but I persisted in messing with them because I was bored. It was a nightmare. I had my eye on Bodyguard for a while and snatched it up during a sale.
What. A. Game. Changer. I used it as a base coat a day before doing a planned polygel set, to give myself a break. I did use Orly Nail Tip Primer first. It was nice and hard, so my fragile nails lil’ nails were beautifully protected all day and night. I didn’t worry at any point about them ripping or breaking, which is a relief.
I (think I) buffed it up manually and wiped it down and applied half tips (and trimmed the tips!), then did my polygel set right on top. It worked awesome! My nails grow really fast, thankfully, so I’m already seeing some grow out. I’m not having any lifting, it’s all strongly stuck on. I also don’t have anymore pain when my nail bed area is pushed on which is amazing! I’ve only been wearing them a week, but this is maybe the best week of my long nail adventure.
I’m work with kids, so even pre-pandemic, I washed my hands a bananas amount. Now though, I’ve had a ton of problems with pinkish lifting because of how often my nails are saturated. This is showing no signs of backing down. I honestly feel like I’ll be able to use this as a basecoat and fill my polygels!
